My 30th birthday wish list. :)

My 30th birthday is in two weeks… And since I cannot spend it where I had planned on being, and since my birthday wishes are far too big to ask any human being to accommodate or gift me with, I thought I would ask for the next best thing.

You see, my favorite activity in the whole wide world is giving.  More than anything, I love to give to others as much as possible.  However, since arriving in Minnesota, I”ve had very few actual opportunities to help fellow human beings in any real and genuine way.  As a result I am feeling a deep sense of loss for my favorite activity.  I know this sounds funny, but I actually miss sleeping in my car since the life it provided was exceedingly simple and for whatever reason left me plenty of opportunities to empathize with and serve humanity…..

In short, I feel temporarily disconnected from the universal flow of love.

I want to be aware of that flow again, and though I know that it’s my responsibility to get myself back there, for my birthday I would like to ask for a little help in bringing my awareness back to that strong, uplifting flow.

So, what I want for my birthday, (which is on 8 July) is for you (even if we’ve never met) to go out and do a random act of kindness in honor of my birthday.  It really would mean the world to me if you would do any activity in service to another, such as (but not limited to):

-give out spare change to someone in need

-treat a homeless person to a latte

-buy the person in line behind you a coffee, no matter how rich they may appear to be.. (we could all use a little kindness… always).

-authentically smile at a stranger and say hello

-give out a random hug  (bonus:  walk around with one of those free hug signs, and make sure you tell at least one person that a hug is from me).

- have flowers delivered to a random room at a local hospital and write a little uplifting note.

-surprise someone special in your life with something you know they really want…  and make sure you tell them that they are worth it.

-buy someone’s bus ticket

-pay for the person behind you as you leave the parking garage

-hold the door open for someone

-be captain obvious and point out how beautiful someone is, or complement them on something you genuinely find amazing and breathtaking about them whether it be their smile, their fashion sense, their uncanny resemblance to someone famous, their witty personality or bright, happy energy.

-tell someone how they’ve inspired you to become more loving, wild, brave, open or happy and how they have played a part in helping you to evolve into your perfectly imperfect beautiful self..

-buy yourself something nice or treat yourself to that thing you’ve been putting off… because YOU are worth it.

the list goes on and on.

Honestly, any simple little act of kindness done on my birthday would absolutely make my day and I think that all of those good vibes would add up the make the start of my 30th revolution around the sun absolutely yummi.

You certainly don’t have to, but if the spirit moves you please e mail me and tell me of your random act of kindness in honor of my birthday… I would LOVE to hear about it!:  currierose81@gmail.com

Last, this idea came from a friend when she asked that others do a random act of kindness for her birthday a few months back… I thought it was a lovely idea and I had fun participating.  To view that story, please click:  http://currierose.wordpress.com/2011/05/11/i-heart-random-acts-of-kindness/

THANK YOU!
